Dorothy “Dottie” Lamm
Feminist, Author
1937 -
INDUCTED 1985
Dottie Lamm is a modern day renaissance woman and devout feminist. For twelve years she was Colorado’s First Lady (1975-1987), the wife of Governor Dick Lamm.
This high-profile platform allowed her to advocate for women’s rights, including reproductive choice and access to health care, quality child care, equal pay for equal work, and the Equal Rights Amendment. In 1994, Lamm was a delegate to the United Nations Conference on Population and Development and the 1995 World Conference on Women. After an unsuccessful run for the U. S. Senate in 1998, Dottie resumed her lifelong commitment to raising awareness of and solving problems that hold women back, in Colorado and around the world. Through her speeches, books, articles, and regular op-ed columns in the Denver Post, Dottie ensures that women’s voices are heard in our public political debate.
