Rank badges were worn on the chest of officials to identify one’s rank. There were different symbols that identified each rank: birds for civil officials and animals for military officials.
The double crane insignia in colored threads was designated for officials of the senior third rank and above. The insignia in the picture is embroidered with twisted threads using long and short stitch and outline stitch on dark bluish-purple fabric in the pattern of cloud-treasure.
Designated as National Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 121
