Grows 3m - 6m shrub or tree. Often multi-stemmed with straight, spiny branches that droop. Bark is smooth grey. Leaves are prominently alternating. Flowers are solitary and few and are yellow-green. Fruits are yellow at maturity and fleshy. Distribution: In Nyanza, Coast, Rift Valley and Western Regions. Grown in moist, riverine and dry forests. Use: Fruits are edible. Leaves Medicinal.
