The "Epiphany" tympanum that presided over the facade of Master Mateo's retrochoir and the tympanum at the Church of the Corticela were the inspiration for a number of others, including the "Adoration of the Magi." This piece was also known as "Doña Leonor's Tympanum" in reference to the donor, who appears in it kneeling between Saint Joseph, Mary's throne and the Holy Child. She funded a the construction of a chapel around 1323, near the cathedral's western facade. The donor can be clearly identified from the inscription at the base.
