Dr. Ghaleb Husseini

Professor of Chemical Engineering and Dana Gas Endowed Chair at AUS. He worked on creating a less aggressive approach to cancer treatment.

Dr. Ghaleb Husseini is a Palestinian-born US citizen who lost his grandmother to cancer. Upon losing another relative to the same disease he studied chemical and biomedical engineering which enabled him to dedicate himself to cancer research. Subsequently, he was able to find a kinder approach to treating cancer instead of the aggressive treatments available. He advises young dreamers to study and work in fields they are passionate about as this will make their work both successful and enjoyable. He finds the UAE a vibrant and energetic country where research funds are abundant and research labs advanced. Work such as his is, thus, able to come to fruition.
