Every year, the Dragon Dance Parade stops by the Chinatown Gate. or paifang, which serves as the entrance to the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood in downtown Portland.

The gate was proposed by the Oregon Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) in 1984, designed by Yu Tang Wang and Sun Chau, built by Ting Ha Architects in Taiwan, and dedicated and given to the City of Portland as a gesture of goodwill from the Chinese American community in 1986.
