In Soviet times, Volodymyr Patyk almost annually fulfilled monumental orders of the art and production plant, in which many members of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR were involved. Turning to historical themes, in 1969 he created wall paintings in the lobby of the cinema named after B. Khmelnytskyi in Lviv — "Khmelnytskyi near Lviv in 1648". In the design of facades and lobbies of public buildings, Patyk showed himself to be an optimistic artist of a decorative and innovative direction - it was he who laid out the relief mosaic "Sea and Fish" for the store "Ocean" in 1978.
