Drawing of an elevation and plan for a proposed bridge at Audley End House, Saffron Walden, Essex

Robert Adam's drawing shows an elevation and plan for a proposed bridge to be built over the River Cam in the grounds of Audley End House. Carrying a central 'Coach Way' flanked on either side by a 'Foot Walk', the bridge features decorative roundels in the spandrels and balustrades. A bridge similar to this design was built in 1763-4.
