An architectural drawing of the yet unbuilt Santa Monica Opera House, dated on the facade, 1911. The Santa Monica Opera House was commissioned by Charles Tegner and designed by architect Henry C. Hollwedel to be built at 214 Oregon (now Santa Monica Boulevard). This rendering shows an architectural language different from the structure at 214 Santa Monica Boulevard, the Majestic Theatre that became the Mayfair Theatre and was remodeled in 1929 in Spanish Revival style. Written in the rendering, on the side of the building, are the words, "Vaudeville and Moving Pictures."
