Dress from Afghanistan - close-up of detail

Wide and short black cotton dress with deep, straight sleeves and a very full gored skirt. The dress is heavily embroidered on the front with coloured stitching, and white beads, coins, coin-like objects, and small metal ornaments sewn on. The back is plain, and cut twice from hem to waist for insertion of gores.
