Costume designed by Lila de Nobili for Director Peter Hall's 1952 production of Midsummer Night's Dream. The dress was worn by Actor Diana Rigg as the character Helena. The dress has a cream bodice with dark brown velvet and black braid striping. The front is decorated with 18 black buttons and black velvet on either side. The bodice has a small round neckline with cream lace frill. Full-length sleeves are gathered at the top tapering slightly towards the cuffs. Overskirt from same cream material with similar brown velvet and black braid decoration.
