Drinking Woman

In the period 1927-1929 S. Nikritin created a series of paintings entitled The works and days of the petty bourgeoisie. This is a series of figurative works by the artist, including " Drinking Woman ", "Howling Woman", "Man and the Crowd", etc., which present a peculiar series of very expressive and grotesque figures. These works present the terrible world of the faceless mass, of people who drink, shout, are lonely figures or are a silent crowd. The artist uses allegory and metaphor in his visual language to create multidimensional compositions that bear witness to a variety of meanings, as in the case of the work "Drinking Woman".
