The Nove de Julho fans' musical instruments feature the club's symbol and the pitbull mascot. Its founder, nicknamed "Pernambuco", was a fanatical supporter of Santa Cruz F.C., from Recife, which inspired him to choose the shape and colors of this local team from Casa Verde Alta, in the northern part of São Paulo, dating back to 1954. The mascot is much more recent, from 2000, and they chose this breed of dog for its notorious strength and loyalty. "Pitbull Loko" — spelled with a k — is the name of the fans' drum kit.
