This 9-foot cast bronze statue by Jan Gordon Fisher is installed at Kuhio Beach Park, Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawai'i, as a tribute to the famous Hawaiian athlete, actor, and "Father of Modern Surfing."
The statue is accompanied by a bronze surfboard, honorary bronze spears, and commemorative bronze plaques. It serves as a Hawaiian cultural asset as well as a locale for cultural events and ceremonies. The statue itself is regularly adorned with honorary leis.
The popularity of the site for locals and tourists alike is enhanced by 24-hour webcam coverage (Waikiki Beach Web Camera).
