Dummy landing craft used as decoys in south-eastern harbours in the period before D-Day.

To deceive the Germans about where D-Day would take place, dummy tanks, guns, aircraft and ships made of rubber, canvas and plywood were set up as decoys all over Britain. The deception operation was codenamed Operation 'Fortitude'.
