Dutar is an ancient Persian two-stringed musical instrument, widely used in Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Chinese Uighurs. The dutar repertoire is diverse - from small appliances to large pieces of maqoms, dostanou. Dutar is used as a solo, ensemble and accompanying singing instrument.
