The edition was printed at the Centro Para El Grabado Y Las Artes Del Libro, in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the SHG project Utopia/Dystopia, curated by Miyo Stevens-Gandara. The print depicts the king of diamonds, envisioned as the Dystopian Rex, a two-faced monarch of a chaotic world consumed by war, waste, and destruction. Poli Marichal used a PVC plate to carve the print. The carmine sections were colored by hand on the plate before printing the image. It was printed using a Takach press.
