Landscape

"Landscape" depicts a snowy mountain wilderness, a striking scene skillfully rendered. The inscription (from lower left): "A long, weary journey, mule and rider exhausted. The lonely traveler shivers: How cold in the hinterlands! Endless sleet and snow, falling far and wide." White seal: "Fan Yulian." Red seal: "Kan-ching N?shi." The painting depicts a man riding a mule on a mountain trail in bitterly cold weather. The brushwork is elegant and refined, the structure appropriate to the setting, the work that of a highly accomplished artist.
