Pare (Hat)

Pare. Hat. Woven from strips of paeore (pandanus). Woven out in a check weave, with commencement from base of crown, and lock off near edges of brim of hat. Brim and crown is oval in shape. Crown is decorated around the middle with dyed-red/orange coloured strips of possibly paeore, forming star-shaped motifs. The brim is also decorated with dyed-red/orange strips of possibly paeore, forming a pattern. Mostly natural in colour.
