Eagle stencil pattern

The William Morris Gallery holds a large collection of working drawings by Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo and other members of the Century Guild. This drawing is from a series of designs for stencil patterns. The design shows an eagle perched on a branch within a circular border, it has been worked in ink, pencil and chalk and was possibly intended as a book illustration.
