Early Christian Tombs At Celone Cave

The site looks like a vast cemetery dug on both sides of the quarry and crossed by the Celone river: it is a whole catacomb area carved into the rock and featured by small burial plots on the floor, niches in the walls and along the corridors, decorated pillars, sarcophagi and funerary tombs.
The area is highly considered all around the Iblei for its great archaeological and anthropological importance.
