Morning over the Castle is in literature on the subject usually called Morning at the Foot of the Wawel Hill, Planty Park with a View over Wawel, or Krakow Planty Park. Looking at the painting, it seems its original title Morning over the Castle gave it a slightly different sense. It directed attention not to the empty avenue with trees, but to the majestic silhouette of the castle enveloped in the light of the rising day.
