East LA Landscape

East LA Landscape was initially a photograph taken by the artist in 2014. The print captures a meditative Winter scene at sunset from a City Terrace hilltop. Growing up in Boyle Heights, where there are not too many hills, Star and her friends would frequent the hills of City Terrace to meditate and reflect. Star attempted to photograph this scene multiple times, but the quality was not good enough. After finally capturing the image to her satisfaction and loving the results, she wanted to transform the photo into a serigraph a four-color CMYK print. *The statement was taken from an interview with the artist.
