Claus Carstensen's six abstract-expressive, green paintings for Christiansborg have a violent, concentrated expression that suggests a spontaneous discharge of tension on his part. The motifs hinted at refer to problems connected with the delineation of frontiers. Hans Engell, the former chairman of the Conservative Party (born 1948), chose Claus Carstensen on the advice of the Danish Parliament's Art Committee. After the general election in 2007, the Socialist People's Party took over the Conservative Party's committee room. The title means 'Eat your Darsein' and is a kind of memento mori.
