The paintings by Murillo which are held in the Museum of Cádiz all come from the Convento de Capuchinos. This is a work of ancient devotion, very famous in the city, in which the proximity of the artist to the popular religious perception is reflected perfectly. It has been suggested that this is an ancient copy, or it was completed by some follower who worked in Capuchinos with the master.
