Oil and graphite on raw canvasIn the 1970s PARK SEO-BO(1931- ) began to create 'Ecriture' series. This is called his 'white monochrome period'.
Park painted canvas in cream oil and filled pictorial space with vertical lines before oil dry. The works created in this way reveals nearly unconscious state in accordance with the artist's emotion or biological rhythm, and gives a somewhat desolate and transparent impression.

[Ecriture] is originated from self-effacement to completely possess nature. The artist excluded every artificial elements such as form, structure and color, and constructed the world nearly approaching unpainted state. Colors and lines are used to complete the state, and painting and drawing become the same one.
