In the Museum's collection of Apollo-related artifacts is one of Astronaut Ed White's training flight suits. One of America's pioneering astronauts, White performed the first U.S. spacewalk during the Gemini IV mission on June 3, 1965. Selected for the first manned Apollo flight, Apollo I, White tragically lost his life on January 27, 1967 in a prelaunch test flash fire along with Astronauts Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee.
