The city of Freyburg an der Unstrut in Germany issued a series of emergency banknotes in the 1920s based on a folktale called “Landgraf werde hart”, i.e. Landgrave, become hard. This motif is the fourth of the series were the Landgrave Ludwig II harnesses a group of nobles to a plough to chastise them.
