The work Egg Shape No.2 carries a strong expressive force that transcends over time and space. Using a stainless steel egg shape and sculptures of human figures that move around inside the egg, the piece represents the ancient beholding of styles, process and the meaning of human existence, the life of a human being. As a whole, it should be understood as a process of ceaseless circles and repetitions. Xu’s installation is intended to deliver and communicate the mysterious, abstract yet‘force majeure’nature of life by stressing the symbolic meaning through transcending time and space.
