Egungun costume

Worn by the masquarade dancers among the Yoruba during the Egungun festival. This festival is held in honour of the dead and assures the place of the ancestors among the living. The festival is held between the months of November to April when there is no rain as they believe that the ancestors should not have to suffer in the rain.
