Ei. Necklace consisting of small pupu (shell) rengarenga (Yellow necklace-shell, Orobophana pacifica) and larger white/yellow pupu raroara (Melampus flavus). The pupu are bored and strung on white cotton thread in a pattern of approximately 18-25 rengaregna alternating with bundles of two raroara. The pupu raroara are bored and strung towards their narrow ends. The ei may be worn looped once.
