Eisenhower at The Met

As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations in 1946, The Met honored General Dwight Eisenhower for his oversight of the protection of monuments and repatriation of objects stolen by the Nazis during World War II. He delivered a moving address on “Art in Peace and War.”
