The Sigh of the Moor (El Suspiro del Moro)

This painting depicts Boabdil, the last King of Granada, on his banishment journey. The painter covered a historical subject that was overused in the 19th century, applying all his skill and expertise to the drawing and chiaroscuro to create a highly theatrical finish. Marcelino de Unceta presented this work at the Aragonese Regional Exhibition (Exposición Regional Aragonesa) in 1885.
