The closest airport is in the picturesque city of Nalchik. In the center of Nalchik is Khychinnaya Street, which is officially called Keshokova Street, formerly Sovetskaya Street. Everyone calls it by its popular name, however. This is because here, in one of the countless khychinnayas, you can find any kind of khychin – the main national Kabardian and Karachay pirog – and fall in love with the cuisine of the Northern Caucasus forever.
