Elena Kondakova

From February to July 1999, Kondakova received training as a member of a group of cosmonauts for MKS-gr. In July of 1999, she was appointed as an onboard engineer of the second (backup) crew of MKS-3 and the main crew of MKS-5 (instead of Vinogradov), together with Korzun. From August 5 to December of 1999, she underwent pre-flight training within the framework of the MKS-3 and MKS-5 programs. She was excluded from the crew after election to the State Duma.
