Elephant Birds once lived on the island of Madagascar, off the southeast coast of Africa but went extinct 300 to 400 years ago. Hummingbird eggs are the smallest bird eggs. Hummingbirds lay one to two eggs in their nests. The volume of an Elephant Bird is roughly equivalent to 200 chicken eggs or 10,000 Hummingbird eggs!
