Elias Kane, son of John Kane and Sybil Kent Kane. Married Deborah VanSchelluyne.

His first child was Elias Kent Kane (1794--1835) by Maria Leavenworth. Elias the younger was raised by Elias and Deborah his wife. Maria Leavenworth married Reuben Foster. I do not know if there ever was a marriage between Maria and Elias the elder.

Death Notice:
Kane. In this city, on Saturday morning, the 3d instant, Elias Kane, Esq., Navy Agent, in the sixty-ninth year of his age. Mr. Kane was a most estimable man. He was a long time merchant of distinction in New York, and for some years past Navy Agent in this city. He discharged the duties of his public trust with the greatest fidelity. In all the relations of private life his worth was deeply felt. As a husband, father, friend, and neighbor he was most affectionately regarded, and will be long remembered.
