Elusive Land

Satish Chandra was a landscape artist par excellence. He graduated in Fine Arts from the College of Arts & Crafts, Lucknow, in 1963 and completed Post Graduation in Landscape and Watercolour painting in I964.

He was influenced by his travels and the people he met. The houses made of wood and stone, temples with different size bells, and the boundless beauty of Nature all found their way into his sketchbooks. His palette included all the colours in the spectrum as he coaxed atmospheric nuances onto the canvas.

Satish Chandra has participated in many national and international collective exhibitions and several one-man exhibitions. His works can be found in the collections of museums and individuals in India and abroad.
