Embroidered Evening Sandal

This extravagant evening shoe, with blunt tip, half height and slightly curved heel, is made of gold coloured leather and fine-patterned blue silk embroidered in an elaborate appliqué of gold threads in spiral patterns. Rust-red silk yarn was used to apply the filaments and underlines the intensity of the gold, generating a Chinese-looking colour triad. Toe cap and heel cap are closed, and a gold t-shaped clasp runs across the instep. The clasp closes with a gold coloured, rhinestone-clad buckle.
