Postcard to Margaret (Maggie) Staunton from Sergeant Tom Rowe, an old Richmond friend. Thomas William Rowe (service no.347) was a member of the 11th Light Horse Regiment. Silk postcards reached their peak of popularity and production during the First World War. Mostly hand embroidered by French women at home, the designs were sent to factories for cutting and mounting on card.
