Right across Kathiawar and Kutch, Gujarat, the women wear cotton gathered skirts with a drawstring waist, a short blouse and an odhni (head covering). This textile assemblage is usually elaborately embroidered by the women reflecting their traditions and heritage. This skirt border also known as ghaghrapat is richly embroidered with single rows of four-legged animal in the top register and elephants in the lower one, alternating with flowers and coloured stripes separating the two rows of animals.
