Wrapping cloths, which has been a unique and integral part of Korean culture, were used for everyday purposes as a wrapping cloth for the dining table or beddings and for special purposes such as wrapping cloth for engagement ceremony and wrapping cloth for the wooden wild geese used at wedding ceremonies. Good examples of a wrapping cloth are patchwork wrapping cloth and embroidered wrapping cloth. Patchwork wrapping cloth was made using leftover pieces of cloth and is thus considered the fruit of our predecessor’s practical wisdom. On the other hand, embroidered wrapping cloths were used at celebratory events such as weddings. This patchwork embroidered wrapping cloth demonstrates picturesque beauty in its composition and color arrangement.
