Leigh Le Roux is a self-taught artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. He describes his work as honest and serves as a reflection of his emotional journey of dealing with mental health issues. Growing up, Le Roux was an incredibly shy child and due to his family moving around a lot he turned to drawing to deal with the social anxiety he began experiencing.
Spending most of his time absorbed in his drawing books, his mother recognised that he would do great in pursuing a career in the arts. He completed his Visual Communication degree at the AAA School of Advertising. Since his time spent at AAA, his work has evolved immensely and he has grown in ways he didn’t think was possible. Today he works in the website and graphic design industry.
