  • Critic's Note: (Space-Less) Sculpture as Semantic Creator of Space His structures are not perceived as concrete shapes with solid substances, but they appear as fluid variations that float in the imagination and fantasy of the viewer. In the structure that is both a physical space (Space) and a speculative space (Less), these two spaces break down the barriers and converge (Space-Less). Focusing on the visual characters created at the border of 3D and 2D, the artist often calls his work ‘image sculpture’. Here, the image is not perceived as a concrete shape, but is interpreted as a piece of sculpture that multiplies the breadth of imagination and contemplation viewed through a minimalistic approach. The minimal materiality, like ‘emptiness’and‘space-less’, and therefore the work has the potential to be variable and fluid. by Song Mi-sook, Art Critic, 2009
