This deed in Turkish belongs to a
vakıf established by Mihrimah Sultan
(d. 1578), daughter of Sultan Süleyman
the Magnificent and Hürrem Sultan.
It concerns the endowment for a
mosque complex built by the architect
Sinan in Üsküdar for Mihrimah Sultan.
The document concerns the endowment
of properties in Anatolia and Rumelia.
Revenues from these were to be used
to meet the expenses of the complex.
The preface text is headed by a richly
illuminated unvan panel, in the centre
of which the Besmele is inscribed in
gold thuluth script on a gold ground
