Endre stamped over the bookplates in his books that had the standard “Kaldory’s book” text with a “Krumpholtz 1944” mark. This Krumpholtz was an Arrow Cross party member from the same building where Endre lived. Endre wanted to create the impression that his books had already been stolen, to avoid the potential seizure of his library.
