Jolimont, Australia

Colour engraving of a cricket match being played on a field surrounded by trees and hedges. The viewpoint is from a slightly elevated angle and shows a side-on view of the wicket. Seventeen figures appear including two batsmen, two umpires, eleven fielders and two spectators. The bowler is delivering the ball underarm and the batsmen and umpires carry curved bats. The fielders wear stockings, breeches and waistcoats, while the umpires and spectators wear long coats and tricorn hats. Below the image are printed the names of the painter and engraver, with the title ("Cricket") and publishing details underneath. The print is attached to a piece of thick paper and loosely mounted behind card.
