This is the model for the commemorative medal or in tribute to the actor Enric Borràs (Badalona, 1863-Barcelona, 1957), who achieved great success from the nineties of the 19th century, especially with the works of Ángel Guimerá - and especially representing the role of Manelic from Terra baixa -, also being the protagonist years later in some plays by Santiago Rusiñol. He distinguished himself by spreading Catalan theater in Madrid and in various Latin American countries.
In addition to this medal, Gargallo made at least three other sculptures in tribute to prominent personalities of the Catalan theater, the relief Terrassa á Guimerá MCMIX, 1909, and the monuments to Lleó Fontova, 1910, and Iscle Soler, 1915-18.
