In the foreground, in the center of the screen, portrait of Tiradentes standing, full body, right leg in front, face to the right, looking up. Long hair tied back in a ponytail. 18th century cavalry uniform, consisting of a white shirt with a jabor collar, a red waistcoat, a blue coat with silver epaulettes, a sash around the waist. Yellowish pants with black cannon boots, with spurs, high white socks between the boots and the shorts. Right hand extended along the body carrying cocked hat, left hand slightly flexed and resting on the sword, with a folder with the monogram of Dona Maria I under the Portuguese royal crown. In the background, on the right, two horses are feeding, one being ridden by a soldier in a red, blue and white uniform. Cutouts of the Itacolomi mountains, vegetation and blue sky with gray clouds complement the scene. At the bottom of the canvas, a white band with the inscription: "Ensign Joaquim José da Silva Xavier. O 'Tiradentes'". Author's signature and date in the lower left corner: "J. W. R. 1940".
