St. John and one of the Elders have begun to carry the corpse away. Mary Magdalene kneels at right, the Virgin sits at left. Two persons are at left in the middle ground. Verso: The Virgin sits at the opening of the cave. The dead Christ leans against her right leg. A woman kneels at right, at left Mary Magdalene holds the right hand of Christ.
